My Last Trip To St. Alphonsus…Fall Theology Conference 2011

Faithful reading of Ancient Future Worship (all three of you) will recognize this as the stained glass from the chapel at Mt. St. Alphonsus in Esopus NY.  It’s a former Roman Catholic Seminary and current retreat center in Esopus NY and I’ve had the opportunity to visit several times in the past few years. I’m heading to Mt. St. Alphonsus for the last time this week as I have the pleasure of acting as general secretary for a theological conference.  A week in a room with ubermenschen debating theologically minutia vociferously taking notes.  What could be better?  Walking the halls I always feel transported out of the every day to Zion.  Sadly, the facility is being closed to general use and being leased to a private organization…so this will be my last time.
