Volkenroda Abbey

We’ve arrived at Volkenroda Abbey for the seminar on Transcultural Leadership.  Another amazing setting/location.  Apparently the abbey was bombed during the Second World War.  Part of the abbey was restored with great care, but part of it was left as it was after the bombing and a structure was built around it to preserve and commemorate.  There’s a striking dichotomy between the ancient and modern architecture side by side.

The image to the left wasn’t photoshopped.  I just happened to be in the right place at the perfect moment with camera in hand…
